SUPERFLAT
In Minecraft, there is a world type called superflat. It is in "more options". As you can see, in a superflat world you are given grass (unlimited), mobs, and a LOT more villages than in a normal world. The world only goes four blocks down (can be changed on PC) until you hit bedrock. It is reccomended that you activate the bonus chest. In superflat, food is not a problem. Mobs spawn left and right, but at night, this can be a problem because hostile mobs spawn EVERYWHERE when you don't keep it lit up. Something you can do however, is set it to "Overworld". This setting gives your world caves with ores, long grass (can easily get annoying when you are trying to build something), and little water deposits (include sand and a large amount of squids in each one). That is the best way to survive. Also, village blacksmiths (open cobblestone buildings that include lava and two furnaces). Have chests that can include good stuff such as obsidian, iron/diamonds, saplings, or apples.
There really isn't a limit as to the size of the NPC villages, and they can also contain any number of farms. If you look closely, you can see black blocks on fenceposts. Those are like streetlights. They have four torches, one on each of the four sides. A cool thing about this is that there could be a LOT of blacksmiths, which is REALLY good. Once, I found a village that had three libraries (which are big and good to live in), four blacksmiths, like ten really small village houses, and about five wheat farms! It was the best village EVER!!!
BEST BUILD EVER!!!! Made of the most coveted building material, DIRT. Includes a grand total of FOUR torches, two on the outside and two on the inside. Best house EVER!!! XD
superflat minecraft meem
You can do the same as normal superflat world, except with SAND!!!!!!!!!!!
There are multiple kinds of superflat world types to choose from. A very reccomended one is called tunneler's dream. It is the same as a normal superflat world, except it is FILLED with caves.
SUPERFLAT SURVIVAL
Superflat survival on the XBOX 360 is close to impossible because the village blackstmiths are harder to find, and they don't always have chests with good supplies in them. Another liability is that there are only two growable food sources: wheat and melons. Apples can be obtained as well, but the chances of getting them are 1/200 and you would have to either not be in superflat or have saplings which you can only get from creative mode or a blacksmith chest. But on the PC, getting food is not much of a problem because of the new existance of pumpkin pie, carrots, and potatoes. Another thing that makes survival harder is the fact that the land only goes 3 or 4 blocks down until bedrock, so you can't build an underground house. Another thing is, there are no ores, so mining is impossible. Iron, diamond, gold (BUTTER!) emeralds, and obsidian can only be obtained from chests in the village blacksmith. Blacksmiths are VITAL to survival (or at least getting better tools and weapons) becaue their chests are the only way to get ores and saplings.
